To wrap up our discussions on moon care, I would like to focus this month on the remaining group of moons in the earth signs.  These are Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo moons.  Earth moons are more connected to the tangible world than any other moons. Therefore, their well-being is closely related to their physical environment.  Thus, Virgo moon may get aggravated by a clutter in their home, Capricorn moon by the lack of progress on a project, and Taurus by a loss of their financial or physical possessions. Of course, these are just a few examples, and there are many more factors that could upset or deplete earth moons’ individuals of their energy.  Most of this would be  of tangible nature.

Capricorn Moon –

Individuals born with a moon in Capricorn need to have a sense of accomplishment.  Stagnation in their career or lack of progress towards their goals could feel disheartening for these individuals.  When they feel down, creating a short manageable to do list and completing a few things from it (or all) could uplift their spirits as it would provide them with a feeling of achievement.  Capricorn rules over bones, skin, and joints.  So, a good habit to add to Capricorn moon’s daily selfcare routine is a regular yoga practice which will help with joint aches as these individuals age.  Yoga asanas to consider are mountain pose (for alignment), chair pose (to promote flexibility and support knees health), and hero pose (for flexibility in knees, ankles, and joints), among a few.  Also, regular walks and walking meditations outside will help Capricorn moons to reconnect with nature and allow them to appreciate the present moment more as well as promote rest from never ending deadlines and objectives to meet.  Another activity to consider is scheduling (yes, scheduling 😊) some regular free play breaks to allow for childlike energy come through.  Capricorn moons tend to be serious.  Free play such as with art and craft supplies with an objective “let’s see what happens?”, going to the park with kids and playing on the swings or pretend games, or creating something from imagination with Legos could all be good activities for taking care of Capricorn moon.  Other things to consider for Capricorn moon self-care routine is adding anti-inflammatory turmeric to the diet, which helps with joint health and much more.  To promote skin health (which tends to manifest as dermatitis, eczema or psoriasis at times of stress), these moons should consider leafy greens and richly colored fruits and veggies, vitamin D and omega-3 rich foods or supplements and seeds as well as stay hydrated.  Also, Capricorn moons could add frankincense or cypress tree essential oil to their massage (a small amount in the carrier oil) to help their skin and to soothe from stress;  vetiver or sage essential oils for aromatherapy; and dandelion root tea to nourish and ground the body.

Taurus Moon-

Individuals born with moon in Taurus are generally even-tempered and kind-hearted.  They like their earthly routines and a cozy cup of tea with a little dessert or simply hanging out at home or in their garden.  They have a natural affinity for nature and are rather creative.  Things that aggravate and exhaust these individuals are unpredictability in their routine and schedule, constant surprises and alterations to the plans, loss of possessions or financial loss, working non-stop to care for others, not having time to enjoy life, among other things.  To take care of their Taurus moon, these individuals could do several things, they are truly not finicky people by nature.  For starters, Taurus moons could allocate time for work in their garden, doing something creative, or crafting.  They could also go to the farmers market and then cook a nice nourishing meal, or simply watch some interesting cooking shows while cuddled in a comfy chair with a cup of soothing peach or jasmine infused white tea.  Established daily schedule,  set sleeping time  and self-care regimen could also do wonders for these moons, including preventing buildup of aggravation from life’s daily stresses.   Taurus moons do have a hard time motivating themselves to exercise.  So, they could start their workout routines with yoga practice to include bridge pose (to help with neck and thyroid gland), staff pose (to give them some energy and stretch, especially neck), Cat/ Cow pose (to stretch neck and stimulate thyroid gland) and go on a nature walk or a light jog afterwards.  They may also enjoy learning to play music or listening to a soothing musical composition.  Taurus moons usually find loud noises to be unsettling, so, to create an “on the go” self-care package, they could add some earplugs, lavender essential oil, a bag of chamomile tea, and a few pieces of chocolate to their bag (just in case 😊).   In addition, Taurus moons could consider regular massages with natural oils (lavender, rose, chamomile, or clary sage), sound therapy, and aroma therapy with vanilla or thyme oil.  Working with their hands grounds Taurus moons. Perhaps a pottery or jewelry making class could provide grounding as well as stimulate creativity in these individuals.   As far as diet is concerned, Taurus moons could consider having leafy greens added to their recurring food intake to provide a boost of energy, algae supplement containing iodine which is good for thyroid function, and marshmallow and fresh ginger teas to help with recurring sore throats.

Virgo Moon-

Individuals born with moon in Virgo tend to be in service to others.  Helping others makes them happy.  However, there is certainly a tendency to overwork.  Other stressors for these individuals include messiness, clutter, disorganization, lack of quality, and criticism.  When Virgo moons are stressed out, they tend to lose their sense of grounding. One of the quick ways to return to an orderly state of mind is taking one of the drawers in the house and de-cluttering or reorganizing it.  The actual routine of rearranging things is meditative for these moons.  Besides feeling anxious and ungrounded, stress also tends to manifest in Virgos as digestive issues.  To help with this, Virgo moons should consider a simpler diet, staying away from rich and greasy foods, focusing their nutritional intake primarily on plant based, rich in fiber, foods and cold-water fish.  A supplement of digestive enzymes, probiotics or probiotic-rich foods such as yoghurt, kimchi, kefir, sauerkraut, tofu, or tempeh could also significantly help with digestive issues in Virgo moon individuals. Another thing to consider for these natives is learning how to accept things as they are, which is hard for them.   Virgo moons need to learn with time that not every situation that is not perfect or has a problem requires their attention.  Others need to have space and time to learn from their own mistakes too and digest lessons life throws their way.  Activities that could help Virgos to take care of their moons could include crafts, gardening, cleaning/ organizing, spending time with dog or cat, listening to the rain, being in the nature, smelling pine trees, having herbal spa treatment to detoxify body.  Virgo moons could also add regular yoga practice to their routines to include seated twist (to help with digestion and detox), forward bend ( to settle anxious mind), and extended puppy pose ( to calm down).  Valerian tea could help Virgo moons to keep worries away while peppermint team could help with sharpening the focus.  For sleeping space, Virgo moons should make sure that it is clutter free, otherwise for very organized Virgo moon it would be hard to relax in the physical chaos. Finally, aromatherapy including patchouli, lemon balm, or chamomile essential oils could provide additional relaxation.

January 2025 Transits

January overall looks like a busy month.  Transits described below may feel more impactful if you have personal planets, Ascendant, Midheaven, or Descendent at the listed degrees (plus or minus a couple of degrees) in your natal chart.  You can obtain a free copy of your natal chart from astro-seek.com.

January 1: Mars opposes Pluto (1 degree Leo and Aquarius) -This transit is about ego vs. power in our relationships with others.  If you are trying to change your current work or relationship dynamic, it is likely that you will meet significant resistance.  The outcome could be a great success if you play your cards right. So, think before you leap.  Make sure to plan out your strategy and line up as many alias in your corner as you can to outweigh the opposition.

January 4-5:  Sun sextiles Saturn (14 degrees Capricorn and Pisces)- Good transit to get things done as Saturn rules organization and, combined with Sun, you will have stamina to complete a variety of mundane things.  Also, go ahead and create some practical plans for your future projects.

January 6:  Mercury squares Neptune (27 degrees Sagittarius and Pisces) – This transit brings in some confusion and makes details foggy.  Also, watch out for someone lying to you or trying to cheat you.  However, your intuitive perception is heightened at this time; so, trust it.  While this is not the best day for signing contracts (as details may be missed) or strenuous mental work, it is a good day for creative writing and intuitive pursuits. This transit makes us think about the world around us and those less fortunate.  Go ahead, treat someone who needs it to a meal or do some charity work.  You will feel so much better! 😊

January 10-14: Mars trines Neptune (27 degrees Cancer and Pisces) – This transit allows us to look at the world with more compassion and sensitivity as Martian ego is not in the way.  Working with others and helping them may give you a sense of satisfaction. These are good few days to participate in charity work, meditate, and do yoga rather than vigorous exercise.  Neptune tends to dampen our stamina.

January 12-13: Sun trines Uranus (23 degrees Capricorn and Taurus) -This transit is good to try out new things that you have never done before; or give a try studying astrology or tarot, for instance.  Welcoming anything unusual and non-traditional goes well today.  This transit tends to bring more excitement into our lives as well and makes us want to be more authentic to who we are.

January 14-15:  Venus squares Jupiter (12 degrees Pisces and Gemini) – This is usually a good transit.  However, just like any aspect it could manifest in a variety of ways.  One of the ways to describe this exchange of energies is an “unwanted” gift or a gift that is too much.  For example, someone being overly generous to you or giving you a gift that you cannot use (like a box of exquisite chocolates when you are on a diet).   You may also end up going shopping and spending more than you intended as Jupiter tends to cheer us on to get expensive things such as clothing, jewelry, or art.  Unless you have a surplus of cash, stay away from shopping today and simply spend this day enjoying other things you like to do with friends and family.  Have fun!

January 15-16:  Sun opposes Mars (26 degrees Capricorn and Cancer) – This could also be a day when some confrontations arise at work or at home as egos could clash. Anger issues could arise during this transit as well.  Do not suppress your feelings, rather, redirect them into something else – physical exercise or dance, for example.  Once you have cooled off and transit is over, you should be able to see things from a different perspective.

January 16-17: Sun sextiles Neptune (27 degrees Capricorn and Pisces) – This transit tends to make us a little more idealistic and gives us a strong desire to understand deeper aspects of spirituality.  Whatever comes up for you, contemplate or meditate on it. This is a good transit to offer help to those who need it and to work with others on charitable causes.

January 18-20:  Mercury sextiles Venus (15 degrees Capricorn and Pisces) – This is a good transit to participate in social get togethers, trying your hand in creative writing, or doing something generally imaginative.  You may also find it easier to speak with grace with others and communicate your point across in a diplomatic manner.  Commercial dealings on this day tend to go well too.  Art exhibits, a concert, a craft show, or spending time with your friends and loved ones are all great activities for this day.

January 18-19: Venus conjuncts Saturn (15 degrees Pisces) – During these two days you may feel more serious than usual, especially in the area of friends, money and what is valuable to you.  Use this transit to de-clutter and prepare some items for charity or processing out any psychological issues. As this transit coincides with Mercury’s sextile to Venus transit, you may be able to find a practical manifestation to your creativity or levelheaded approach on how to share your creations with the world.

January 19: Mercury sextiles Saturn (15 degrees  Capricorn and Saturn) – This is a good transit to get mundane work done, chores cleared from to do lists, study for an exam or accomplish anything that requires precision (including work that includes small details).    Also, this is a good time to look around yourself with a critical eye to see what needs to be changed in your environment.  This is not the most optimistic transit but great for tasks requiring concentration and thinking.

January 21-22: Sun conjuncts Pluto (1 degree Aquarius) – Pluto transits are not exactly light and fluffy experiences.  This transit will prove to be rather intense as well.  However, Pluto transit, no matter how small, helps create something that is meant to be.  Whatever does not work, usually crumbles and falls away.  These couple of days you may have some intense insights and experiences about yourself. Or it could be time when you finally fixed/ repaired something that has been broken for some time.  This could be a thing, a relationship, or your own habits.  This transit could also manifest as someone trying to exert their power over you, do not let them.

January 21-25: Mars sextiles Uranus (23 degrees Cancer and Taurus) – This could be an exciting and interesting transit where you meet unique people, make fascinating discoveries and have some excitement.  Unlike Uranian conjunction to the planets or squares and oppositions, this transit is rather mild in nature.  You may also stumble across some new solutions to the old problems. Find a way not to have a routine today, if you can.  This could be great for your overall well-being! 😊

January 23: Mercury opposes Mars (23 degrees Capricorn and Cancer) – This is a good day to be mindful of what you say as Mars will make us say things without thinking first. This transit generally gives us a combative predisposition.  On the other hand, this could be a good transit to ask for constructive feedback from others; just don’t take things too personally.  This transit also may make us accident prone; so, slow down doing things or driving.

January 23-24:  Mercury trines Uranus (23 degrees Capricorn and Taurus) – This day could be good for original thinking, study of astrology or other esoteric disciplines, creative problem solving, working with technology.  You may feel some over-excitement or nervous tension, but all is manageable.

January 25-26: Venus trines Mars (22 degrees Pisces and Cancer) – These should be a well-balanced few days, if you chose it to be, to have a connection between your ego and the others.  This transit could be great for a night out, interacting with energetic and lively people.  This could also be a transit to bring in some financial opportunities.  Creative activities or getting involved with an interesting project could also be great during this transit.

January 26-27: Mercury sextiles Neptune (27 degrees Capricorn and Pisces) – This is a great transit to stimulate your creativity and imagination. Mysticism and spiritual topics may become of interest to you at this time.  Take a breather today and give yourself permission to just relax and enjoy a good book and beautiful music.  Your chores can wait after transit is over. 😊

Venus sextiles Uranus (23 degrees Pisces and Taurus) – Generally a fun day with eccentric and unexpected social activities and interactions. Art, music, and design are great activities for this day.

January 29: Mercury conjuncts Pluto (1 degree Aquarius) – You may come across as more intense during this transit than usual and get preoccupied with unearthing the root cause of a problem. Plutonian inquisitiveness and Mercurian curiosity want you to get to the bottom of things. While you can perform great quality analysis during this transit, mind how you communicate with others; so, not to offend them.  Reserve this day for putting efforts into research or resolving a long-standing issue.  You are likely to identify the root cause and find a solution.

January 30-31: Sun trines Jupiter (11 degrees Aquarius and Gemini) – This is a very positive transit which would enable you to accomplish something great for yourself.   In general, you may feel more at ease and in harmony with others.  Your internal optimism during this transit would help you to accomplish a great deal, if you are so inclined, and improve areas of your life that need your attention.  This could be the transit that helps you to finally let go of things or ideas that no longer serve your highest good. Now you can see a bigger picture.

January 31-February 2: Venus conjuncts Neptune (27 degrees Pisces) –  This transit could be marked by romantic and idealistic attitude towards money, values, art, and relationships.  You may also feel some increased fondness for animals. So, on this day you may decide to purchase some artwork or adopt a pet.  You may also wish to visit an art gallery or a concert.  Both planets, Venus and Neptune, rule over creativity and are meeting in an emotional and compassionate sign of Pisces. If anything, simply enjoy a good day with some favorite food and drink. Overindulgence and overspending are possible.
